Prep Time: 10 minutes Cook Time: 45 minutes
Ingredients (yields 4-5 servings):
3 cups thin poha
½ cup peanuts
⅓ cup golden raisins
1/2 cup unsweetened coconut flakes
⅓ cup dalia (roasted gram)
1 tbsp mustard seeds
1 tbsp cumin seeds
8-10 curry leaves
½ tbsp cumin-coriander powder
3 tbsp oil
8-10 green chillies (washed, well dried, and slit in half)
1 tbsp salt (or per taste)
1 tbsp sugar
2 tsp turmeric powder
How to make?
Step 1:
In a big wok, dry roast thin poha for 5-6 minutes till they become crunch and crispy in taste (be careful to not over roast them). Transfer the poha to a plate and set aside.
Step 2:
Heat oil in a large pan on low-medium flame. Add mustard seeds, once they crackle, add cumin seeds, curry leaves, followed by green chillies, and cumin-coriander powder. Mix well.
Step 3:
Next, add peanuts to this mixture and roast for 2-3 minutes until they well-fried (should be reddish brown in color).
Step 4:
Add dry coconut flakes and roast/fry until they change color. Next, add dalia and continue roasting it turns red in color.
Step 5:
When all the ingredients are well roasted, add salt, sugar, and turmeric powder. Mix well.
Step 6:
Add the roasted poha to the pan and mix well with all the ingredients till the spices are evenly distributed.
Serve with tea or store in an airtight container!
