Makhana, also known as fox nuts are essentially lotus seeds...loaded with nutrients and are a good source of protein, calcium, and iron. They make for a great afternoon snack and a good replacement for any type of processed, junk food! Recipe below....
Ingredients (serves 2):
2 tbsp ghee/oil
2 cups makhana
1/2 tsp cumin powder
1/2 tsp paprika
Salt to taste
How to make?
Step 1:
Dry roast makhana in a pan on medium flame for 5 - 6 minutes. Remove the makhana and in the same pan, heat ghee or oil.
Step 2:
Add cumin powder, paprika, and salt to the hot ghee/oil. Add the roasted makhana to the pan.
Step 3:
Toss well to combine. Turn off the heat.
Serve warm or store in an airtight container when completely cool!
